A Swinging Success: 9th Annual Charity Golf Outing

On August 2, 2025, Sarah's Friends hosted our 9th Annual Charity Golf Outing at Suburban Golf Course, and what an incredible day it was! With the sun shining and spirits high, the community came together once again to support survivors of crime in Williams County.

We were thrilled to welcome 17 teams, along with countless volunteers and supporters who helped make the day run smoothly. From the opening tee-off, to the last putt, the energy and generosity on the course was truly inspiring.

Highlights of the Day

  • Fraternal Order of the Eagles #2233 took home first place bragging rights and $500 cash with a portion generously donated back to the mission.

  • Golfers enjoyed some exciting new activities this year, including:

    • Bottle Putt-a fun twist on precision putting.

    • Alternative Putter Challenge-testing skills with unconventional putters.

    • Cornhole Advantage-giving teams a chance to earn a Birdie with cornhole tosses.

  • The 50/50 Raffle raised $340, adding to the impact of the event.

  • In total, the outing raised $9,711 to directly benefit survivors through the programs and services at Sarah's Friends.

A Community That Cares

This event would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers, the generosity of our sponsors, and the commitment of every golfer who showed up to play for a purpose. We are especially grateful to our Event Sponsor, Spangler Candy Company, along with all others listed below, whose support helped make this event such a success.

We also want to extend a special thank you to:

  • Biggby Coffee in Bryan for keeping everyone energized with much-needed coffee during registration.

  • State Bank for sponsoring our delicious donut breakfast and lunch, cooked by Pete Herold.

  • Partners in Crime Catering for providing fresh-baked cookies at lunch.

  • Wieland Chase and Biggby Coffee for donating our contest prizes.

  • And all of the generous businesses and donors who filled our player goodie bags with thoughtful items.
