Join us in our mission to empower victims of domestic violence and other crime to heal emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Have you ever wanted to help someone in crisis, but weren't sure what to say or do? Sarah's Friends is continuously seeking individuals to train to become volunteer advocates for those in Williams County who are effected by crime.
Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and pass a background check to assure the safety of our clients. Volunteers will adhere to personnel policies just as a staff member would. We are seeking volunteers from all walks of life. You are able to hold this volunteer position while employed as a full time employee elsewhere but must be able to occasionally email, text, call or fax during the weekday in order to serve a client.
Love the mission and have a passion for the cause but do not feel like you will have the time needed to commit to being an advocate? We would love for you to consider donating your time and talents for one of our annual fundraisers.
Held on the second Saturday each August, volunteers are always needed to fill the following committees: sponsorships; marketing; procurement; signage; tee gifts & giveaways; registration; and awards.
Held on the third Saturday each November, the soiree assists with bringing in a large portion of our community support needed to fund our annual services. Volunteers are always needed to fill the following committees: sponsorships; marketing; ticket sales; procurement; catering & bar; production; and setup & cleanup.
Help staff bring awareness into the Williams County community through public awareness efforts. Participation can include assisting at a community event or helping create and promote awareness through social media streams.
Topics covered can range from promoting national crime victimization campaigns to localized awareness. Volunteers for events can be utilized to help plan and create events as well as day-of staffing assistance.
