Celebrating a Decade of Driving Hope: Looking Back at Sarah's Friends' 10th Annual Golf Outing

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

On Saturday, August 1st, Sarah's Friends proudly hosted our 10th Annual Golf Outing, a milestone that represents ten years of community members coming together to support survivors of domestic violence and other crimes throughout Williams County.

This event has grown into much more than a day on the golf course. It has become a tradition rooted in compassion, generosity, and the shared belief that every survivor deserves access to safety, advocacy, and hope.

Whether you joined us a golfer, sponsor, donor, volunteer, or supporter, thank you for making this year's outing one to remember.

A Day Filled with Fun

The day wasn't just about great golf: it was about creating memorable experiences while supporting an important cause.

Golfers had the opportunity to participate in several activities throughout the course, each adding a unique element of fun and friendly competition.

The 50/50 Raffle gave participants the chance to win while helping support Sarah's Friends' mission.

The Cornhole Challenge encouraged teams to test their aim, with successful tosses earning an eagle on the hole of their choice.

One of the most popular attractions was the Bottle Putt, where golfers tested their putting skills for the chance to take home a bottle of liquor.

Perhaps the biggest crowd-pleaser was our Alternative Putter Hole. Teams spun a wheel to discover what unexpected household item they would use instead of a traditional putter. Whether putting with a baseball bat, a tennis racket, pool noodle, or another unconventional object, the challenge produced plenty of laughter and gave teams the opportunity to earn a birdie or even an eagle.

These activities created excitement throughout the day while reminding us that fundraising can be both meaningful and fun.

Thank You to Our Sponsors

Events like this simply wouldn't be possible without the generosity of our sponsors.

Your investment in Sarah's Friends extends far beyond one day on the golf course. Your support helps ensure survivors have access to advocacy, emergency assistance, transitional housing, counseling, peer support, and other critical services at no cost.

We are incredibly grateful to every business and organization that partnered with us this year.

Thank You to Our Donors

A successful event isn't just made possible through sponsorships. It's also built on the generosity of local businesses and individuals who donate goods and services that help create a memorable experience for everyone involved.

This year's golf outing was no exception, and we are incredibly grateful to those who stepped up to support our event in meaningful ways.

A special thank you to John's Donuts for generously providing fresh donuts during registration. Your delicious treats were the perfect way to welcome golfers as they checked in and prepared for a great day on the course.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Biggby Coffee-Bryan for donating coffee for our morning registration. Your support helped golfers, volunteers, and staff start the day energized and ready to enjoy the outing.

One of the most talked-about activities of the day was our Bottle Putt, and it wouldn't have been possible without the generosity of Fountain City Veterinary Hospital and an anonymous donor, who graciously sponsored the bottles of liquor used for this popular contest. Thank you for helping create an activity that golfers thoroughly enjoyed.

Finally, we'd like to recognize Current Office Solutions for once again providing our sponsorship signs. Your continued support helps us professionally recognize our sponsors throughout the course and contributes to the overall success of the event year after year.

To each of our donors, thank you for investing in Sarah's Friends and the survivors we serve. Your generosity demonstrates the incredible spirit of our community, and we are grateful to have partners who believe in our mission.

Thank You to Our Volunteers

Behind every successful event is an incredible team of volunteers.

From planning and setup to registration, contests, raffle sales, and cleanup, your willingness to give your time made this event possible.

Your dedication created an enjoyable experience for every golfer who attended, and we are sincerely grateful.

Why Your Support Matters

While the golf outing is filled with competition, laughter, and community, its true purpose is much greater.

Every sponsorship, registration, raffle ticket, and donation helps Sarah's Friends continue providing free, confidential services to survivors throughout Williams County. Because of your generosity, survivors know they are not alone.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate the success of our 10th Annual Golf Outing, we're reminded that the greatest achievement isn't measured by the final scores.

It's measured in the lives changed because our community continues to stand beside survivors.

For ten years, golfers, businesses, volunteers, and donors have made this event a source of hope. We are incredibly grateful for every person who has been part of that journey.

Thank you for helping us create this milestone year.

We look forward to seeing you on the course again next year as we continue driving hope together. See you Saturday, August 7, 2027!
