Safe at Home

Sarah's Friends, Inc. is now able to assist survivors in Williams County with applying for the Safe at Home program. This program, created by Substitute House Bill 359, assists victims of domestic violence, stalking, human trafficking, rape, or sexual battery by shielding their personal information from public record and providing them with a safe and secure way to participate in the voting process. Through this program, survivors are assigned a substitute address designated by the Secretary of State's Office to serve as their mailing address. This substitute address is intended to help survivors of crime shield their address from public records.

Survivors must apply in person only through a certified Application Assistant to participate. As of June 2021, Sarah's Friends is now a certified Application Assistant and can assist Williams County survivors with applications for a confidential address. We are excited to be able to add this service to our program as we know how crucial and needed this can be for safety.
