Help us Unmask the Violence

Updated: Sep 15, 2020

The 11th annual Holiday Soiree fundraiser for Sarah's Friends was held on Saturday, November 17, 2018. This year's masquerade theme focused on unmasking the violence in Williams County by revealing the reality of crimes committed by use of client testimony and statistics.

Attended by over 150 guests, the community came together in this one evening and generously helped us raise over $20,000 to be utilized throughout 2019. Evening activities consisted of a full dinner and bar, live auction, wine grab, new Give & Grab board, and live entertainment and dancing provided by The Chozen Few Band.

This year's new give & grab board revealed to guests that on average, 24 per people per minute are victims of rape, physical violence or stalking by an intimate partner in the United States. Relating this statistic to our evening, guests were shocked to find that 7,200 people will become victimized throughout the timeframe of our event.

Along with additional statistics provided throughout our program, guests were given first-hand testimony of individuals assisted by Sarah's Friends through the video created below. We hope you take a moment to listen to their impactful stories.

Thank you to all of our sponsors and donors for assisting with this fundraising event and to our volunteers who helped put the event together.

12th annual Holiday Soiree is scheduled for November 16, 2019. Sponsorships will become available in the Spring of 2019. Please continue to watch for updates.
